Superb
Restaurant overlooking Loch Insh and the Cairngorm mountains.
The Boathouse as we are known is literally that an old
boat shed where the boats live downstairs and you eat upstairs
and has been in existence since 1969. Eating upstairs makes
you feel that you are literally on the water! Set in 14
acres of woodland in the foothills of the Cairngorms National
Park, the site borders the RSPB nature reserve and has
a half mile of Beach frontage. Scottish Tourist Board Rated
as a 4star visitor attraction.

Opening
hours are from 9.00am for breakfast if you are staying
with us then 10am for bar snacks which include Burgers,
toasties, panninis, salads and home made scones, soups
and sweets. through till 6pm. Then from 6.30pm enjoy our
a la carte dinning experience last orders are at 9pm and
we close at 10pm. We have a hotel licence and a public
licence. To stay open later if you are staying with us. |
| Our
large glass balcony offers probably the best views of the
valley on a sunny day ! It means you are sheltered from the
wind whilst being able to enjoy all the action on the loch
even if you don’t want to get wet ! |
| The
quarterdeck bar looks out over the loch and ski slope too
so there plenty to keep you entertained. |
| Other
facilities on site include BBQ areas and picnic sites, Beach
volleyball, Football and Basketball areas. We now also have
three children’s play areas around the grounds at the
beach and an interpretive board walk which leads off site.
This takes you to the Insh marshes nature reserve and beyond
giving a great insight into the flora and fauna to be found
and a brief history of the area. There are endless options
for walks and bike routes from 1km upwards. Please ask for
advice from our resident instructors on where to go. Remember
bikes can be hired on site too. |

restaurant may be booked without taking part in any winter
or summer activities. However we offer great rates for packages
including food and activities. Please see our website for

| As
part of the same facilities is Loch Insh Watersports Centre
rated by the Scottish tourist board as a 4star visitor attraction,
has many things to offer if you are staying with us in our
chalets. Guests staying more than 1 night can use all the
Watersports equipment at the beach for free in set times
8.30-10.00am and 4.00-5.30pm and similarly in the winter
when the Loch freezes over guests can stay and use the on
site Dry ski slope for free in the set times too. And get
25% off ski hire prices. A great deal if you are heading
to one of our local ski areas. Loch Insh Watersports was
recently voted best on the water facility in Scotland and
also best small business in the highlands in 2000. |
| Please
also ask about our functions packages. We are always a popular
venue for weddings. Which take place on the beach front in
a marquee. We can cater for up to 150 guests for the accommodation,
food and entertainment. |
